When you’re looking for a web company, you want a company that knows what they’re doing. I think you also probably want a company that makes sure you know what they’re doing, as well. At Lifted Logic, we aim for the best of both worlds. We know that successful project management isn’t just about completing the project, but how you go about the process.
The ideal web company project manager partners with you and your business. They aren’t just here to take your money and work SEO magic behind closed doors. Your website is a tool for your business, first and foremost, and you should feel confident using it, too.
Our web design team is here to make sure that your project is a success from start to finish. We know building a productive working relationship between our team and our clients is the foundation on which all of our work is built.
The pillars of successful project management
All these aspects of project management work together to create success.
Communication
I always think it’s better to over communicate than under when it comes to a project. It’s important to make sure everyone is on the same page before we even start working together. Effective communication builds trust and establishes a good relationship between the project manager and client.
The project manager and client relationship harmonizes the client’s vision for the end product and the project manager’s vision for how to get there. Which leads me to my next point:
Collaboration
When our clients work with us we want it to feel like a collaborative effort. We’re not just trying to tell you what to do and we’re not interested in just building your website. There is so much about your business that affects the website, and the site should always be serving the business.
We take the time to teach our clients how their website works and offer support and training for the life of their website. It makes much more sense to us that we train our clients than have them pay us for what could amount to just a half hour of work.
Organization
At Lifted Logic we value preparedness. When we start a project, we do our homework. We review your current website inside and out, check out your competitors, your social media presence, old blogs.
Before we meet for our discovery meeting, every member of your web team has a list of tasks they need to complete. Each team member brings their unique department lens to the table to build out every aspect of your site.
Flexibility
We get it, businesses change over time. (Lifted Logic tripled in just the last year!) Even before we start your web project, we consider that. Are you planning on opening a second location? Switching the services you offer? Anything like that can, and should, reflect in your website and on-going marketing.
When we scope out work for our clients we know that scope has the potential to change. We were working with a client who had a voice over video in their scope of work, but they sent us a video asset they already had that essentially fulfilled that purpose. Rather than just not doing the video for them, or reinventing the wheel we worked to reallocate the hours in their scope to another part of their project.
Trust
I think all the other pillars of successful project management lend themselves to this one: trust. If our clients can’t trust us, or vice versa, then what are we even doing here? That can run a project right into the ground.
Once that trust has eroded we know it can be really hard to get it back. Which is why we work really hard to avoid losing it in the first place.
How does Lifted Logic ensure successful project management practices?
Our process for web design builds in continuous touch points to keep an open dialogue between our team and the client. Between regular meetings and check-ins, we’re always in contact and making sure we get client approval on anything before it goes to the next step.
