The Farmer’s House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities—including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy—to live confident, inclusive, and self-sufficient lives. It provides community-based programs focused on early work experience, employment services, social enrichment, and community integration, often delivered through its social enterprises such as retail markets, catering services, gardens, and an art studio.
Care Beyond the Boulevard delivers high-quality medical and mental health care to Kansas City’s homeless, uninsured, and underserved populations, focusing on care provided outside traditional healthcare settings. Its mission is to ensure that vulnerable individuals have access to compassionate, consistent medical and mental health support regardless of financial or social circumstances, working to advance healthcare equality and social change in the community.
The Porter House KC is an entrepreneurship support organization (ESO) that works to bridge the gap between underrepresented entrepreneurs and access to critical business resources. Founded in 2017, it provides mentorship, education, small-dollar funding, and community-based support to help “non-traditional” and early-stage entrepreneurs, particularly women, Black, and other minority business owners, build sustainable ventures and achieve economic mobility.
Lyrik’s Institution is dedicated to reducing crime and violence by helping young adults in Kansas City transform destructive thinking patterns into productive behaviors through cognitive-based programs and creative arts interventions.
The Will White Foundation provides funding, resources, and support for families facing critical fetal diagnoses. The organization partners with Children’s Mercy Hospital, particularly the Fetal Health Center and Palliative Care teams, raising and donating funds through community-driven events and annual fundraisers to assist families in crisis and advance compassionate care initiatives.
