The challenge
As one of Kansas City’s most recognizable cultural destinations and a premier performing arts center in the Midwest, the Kauffman Center brings world-class performances, community programs, and unforgettable experiences to audiences throughout the region. Its website needed to reflect that same sense of excellence while making the performing arts feel accessible to everyone.
Kauffman Center partnered with Lifted Logic to create an elegant, visually engaging website that makes discovering the arts easier from the very first click.
The Kauffman Center’s architecture is an integral part of its identity, with its iconic design and Kansas City skyline setting creating an experience before a performance even begins. The new website gives that architecture the opportunity to shine.
Visually rich photography, video, and thoughtful design bring the building and its atmosphere to life online. Visitors can experience the scale, beauty, and energy of the Kauffman Center from a computer or phone—helping them imagine themselves walking through its doors.
The visual experience also reinforces an important idea: the arts are for everyone. By making the Kauffman Center feel inviting and accessible online, the website helps remove some of the barriers that can keep new audiences from exploring what’s inside.
Our solution
The project centered around two key goals: helping visitors find what they need in as few steps as possible and communicating the Kauffman Center’s commitment to connecting everyone in the community with the performing arts.
The new website was designed around the needs of its diverse audiences. Whether someone is visiting for the first time, searching for an upcoming performance, purchasing tickets, exploring educational programs, or looking for ways to get involved, the experience makes the next step clear.
Streamlined navigation brings essential resources together in one convenient place, while dedicated content helps visitors explore everything the Kauffman Center has to offer beyond the stage.
Connecting the community to the arts
The Kauffman Center’s role in Kansas City extends far beyond performances. The new website creates more opportunities to discover its history and mission, student and community programs, corporate giving and endowments, volunteer opportunities, and resources for making a full experience out of a visit.
Visitors can also find recommendations for nearby hotels and restaurants, helping turn a night at the theater into a complete Kansas City experience.
By organizing content around what visitors want to do and discover, the new website makes the Kauffman Center’s many offerings easier to access and understand.
