Making It Easier to Get Around…Our Website
We’re always telling our clients that it’s extremely important that their website be easy to navigate. No matter how great the product or service is, concise web design is the only way to keep your audience on the page.
That’s why the first step in our web design process for our clients is always creating an information architecture with the navigational menu as the foundation.
With all our work in web design, we’ve learned a lot about what makes a navigation menu easy to…well, navigate.
Our old site menu required multiple clicks to get into any aspect of our work. Now, our new menu is automatically open to what we do. Plus, it includes multiple points of contact for a user looking to explore our services with quick links and a link to our cost calculator tool.
The goal with any well-built website is to make sure your user can find what they need, quickly. So again, we took a piece of our own advice and followed it.
Taking Our Brand Full-Color
When it comes to the design of our site, we wanted something that had a little more personality.
Lifted Logic is a fun and creative place to work. Yet, our old website was pretty black-and-white and text-heavy. It also focused heavily on our business from our perspective, not necessarily our users and potential clients.
After years of counseling our clients to put the user first, we realized we needed to do the same. So we shifted our focus to demonstrate what we provide for clients in a clear, concise way. Then made it easy to get in touch with us from the top of the page.
Our new site does a better job of showing off our fun side by incorporating our brand colors and some silly Easter eggs hidden throughout the site.
A Closer Look At Our Service Pages
We’ve always been committed to educating our clients on everything we do. Our team has no interest in being the wizard of SEO Oz behind the curtain.
In that spirit, on our old site, our service pages were focused on educating users about our services before we tried to sell anything.
This means we inadvertently buried our calls to action (and how people can get in touch with us) further down the page.
Research shows that users typically spend less than a minute on a page. This means many users might not have stayed long enough on the page to even see our buttons 😅 let alone click them!
Don’t get us wrong, we’re still in the business of educating our clients at every opportunity. We have an exclusive client resource portal and we offer free training for all our current clients.
However, as a business, we need to get people in our digital door to start those relationships and conversations! That’s where the magic happens.
Now there’s a button right in our service page headers, so users can contact us immediately if they already know they want to build a banging website with us.
Because we know the importance of street cred, we also made it a point to provide links directly to examples of our work near the top of the page. So users can see that we do know what we’re talking about when it comes to web design and strategy.
As you move down the page, you’ll notice that we provide even more information about our services. This is part of the Pyramid Principle in UX (user experience). Basically: the longer a user spends on the page, the more information they are likely to read or want to know.
Near the top of the page, our services are listed in succinct, visual ways so users can quickly understand what exactly we offer as an SEO company and digital agency. Then longer blocks of content are tucked away towards the bottom.
Putting Our Best (Digital) Face Forward
We’ve worked hard to get where we are as an award-winning web design agency. Our new website finally reflects that. Of course, we’ll continue to update it as time goes on because that’s part of smart SEO and business strategy.
We wanted to show our clients that we’re not selling SEO snake oil, we take our own medicine and put these strategies to use for our own company. That’s why we’ve been able to grow as a company and offer our clients beautifully designed websites that are also kick-ass when it comes to ROI and lead generation.
