As a Junior Web Developer, your focus would be learning the process of web development at Lifted Logic to become a full stack developer. While the framework or CMS may change from project to project, one constant is our commitment to quality. We primarily build and maintain sites built on WordPress and Laravel, but we value every developer’s input on the best tools for the job. We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, so figuring out the best tools for the job is something we take seriously.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Build custom WordPress themes
  • Use modern technologies and tools to build web experiences.
  • Collaborate with other developers on various projects.
  • Complete bug fixes and ongoing work for ongoing clients.
  • Learn and use coding techniques and development team best practices.
  • Install, configure, and debug various WordPress plugins.
  • Meet with project managers and designers to discuss project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot bugs and other issues on live sites.
  • Set up and manage websites on web servers
  • Manage multiple projects at any one time.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of frontend languages such as HTML and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of backend languages such as PHP
  • Knowledge of WordPress a plus
  • Knowledge of frontend JavaScript libraries a plus (Vue, jQuery)
  • Knowledge of backend PHP frameworks a plus (Laravel)
  • Knowledge of version control a plus (Git)
  • Knowledge of FTP applications a plus
  • Knowledge of website hosting a plus
  • Knowledge of working with databases a plus (MySQL)
  • Either:
    • Proven self-taught web development experience or coding bootcamp
    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • A keen eye for user interaction and flow.
  • Cares about the code they write.
  • Can communicate effectively about development topics with non-technical roles.
  • High attention to detail.
  • And of course, someone who is willing to learn and grow in development and explore new ideas.
